Voluntary self-exclusion

Voluntary self-exclusion.

Self-exclusion is a voluntary program that offers people the opportunity to take a break from gaming and is applicable for the PLAY games and our online games. In particular participants make a written commitment to stay away from the previous mentioned games either for an indefinite or definite period.

Regarding “PLAY” games it is worth mentioning that Self-Exclusion is carried out following a Self-Exclusion request, either before the issuance of the Individual Player’s Card or after.

A Self-Exclusion request before the issuance of the Individual Player’s Card shall be accepted only for an indefinite time period, through a request in written submitted to an OPAP Store, a “PLAY” Store or directly to our Headquarters. Every Player holds the right to submit a Self-Exclusion request or set other restrictions to his/her participation after the issuance of the Individual Player Card, such as:

Indefinite
Self-Exclusion
Self-Exclusion for a
particular time period

For each one of the above cases, the self-exclusion revocation is possible only after the lapse of six (6) months from the Self-Exclusion date, as set in the Regulation of the competent Regulatory Authority (HGC).

How self-exclusion schemes work.
  • You cannot leave the scheme before the exclusion period has expired
  • You are not allowed to play the Games from which you have self-excluded (i.e.: PLAY Games and Pame Stoixima online) during the self-exclusion period
  • You will be excluded for a minimum six month period
  • You will be removed from all marketing databases and you will not be contacted during the period of your self-exclusion
  • You will not have the right to open a new account or issue a new Individual Player’s Card in case you changed your mind
Is self-exclusion right for me?

Generally, people who register feel that it is no longer in their best interest to keep gambling. To find out if this is the right option for you, you may want to consider:

  • Is gambling causing problems with your finances, health or relationships?
  • Will stopping or taking a break from gambling help you feel more in control of your life?
  • Are you willing to make a commitment to change your gambling habits?
The decision to register should be carefully considered. Some people find it useful to combine Self-Exclusion with other support tools, counselling or relationship counselling. Because Self-Exclusion is voluntary, the decision to register is entirely up to you!!!
