Moving response by people in Athens and Thessaloniki
OPAP SA offered 3.273 smiles to children supported by “Together with Children” association through the “Wishing-Ornaments” program that was implemented for a second consecutive year. Thousands of people in Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as OPAP employees, embraced OPAP’s social responsibility action and rushed in order to offer joy to children supported by the association making their wishes come true.
A lot of smiles shined on children’s faces during the special event for the delivery of the presents that was held on Friday, January 29th. The event was attended by the football players of Panathinaikos, who, contributed in their own way to this effort and, together with representatives of OPAP, delivered the presents and had fun with the children.
Through the social responsibility initiative “Wishing-Ornaments”, OPAP supports for this year the “Together with Children” association. Apart from offering presents, OPAP contributes to the improvement of the living conditions in 13 bodies of the association. In particular, OPAP is carrying out construction and repair works, as well as maintenance, supply of technological equipment and modernization of services and facilities works.
Mr. Petr Matejovsky, General Director of Marketing in OPAP, stated: “OPAP, led by its interest in the new generation – the future of Greek society – is implementing a series of actions and initiatives that aim at the improvement of living conditions for children in need. In this context, we support “Together with Children” association and have implemented for a second consecutive year the “Wishing-Ornaments” action in order to offer joy and the “magic” of Christmas to children that are in real need, involving also the people in our effort. We would like to thank all the people and the employees of OPAP for their moving contribution. This year, with their help, “Wishing-Ornaments” have made twice as many children wishes come true comparing to last year. People’s impressive response to OPAP’s initiatives motivates us even more to continue our work and contribution in Greece society”.
Mrs. Yianna Panagiotidou, BoD member in “Together with Children” association, thanked OPAP for its support: “We would like to thank OPAP for standing on our side in our difficult work. OPAP’s help is valuable to us, since it enables us to continue our efforts for relieving children in need”.
