Donation of high standards technological equipment to five hospitals by OPAP S.A.
OPAP S.A. in the context of its strategic commitment for constant improvement of medical care in our country, concluded for 2014 the donation of high standards technological equipment to five hospitals in Greece, which treat on a daily basis a large number of people.
More particularly, the University General Hospital of Thessaloniki ACHEPA, was offered a linear accelerator for the effective treatment of cancer incidents, with emphasis on performing stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy.* With this donation, ACHEPA becomes the only public hospital in Greece with the ability to offer treatment of such type. Mr. Panteliadis, President of ACHEPA BoD thanked OPAP S.A. for its valuable support to the difficult work achieved every day at the Hospital.
Moreover, a digital-ray mammography system was installed at the Aegina General Hospital "St. Dionisios", while two (2) neonatal transport incubators with ventilator operate now at the Thessaloniki General Hospital "Hippocratio". Mr. Kaltsidis, Medical Director of Hippocratio Hospital of Thessaloniki also expressed his gratitude for this donation.
As far as Athens is concerned, OPAP S.A. offered a radiotherapy machine at the "Andreas Syggros" Hospital of Cutaneous and Venereal Diseases. Mrs. Antoniou, Medical Director of "Andreas Syggros" underlined that the equipment donated to the hospital by OPAP S.A. contributes to the operation of the hospital's Radiation-Oncology Department.
Furthermore a digital remote-controlled fluoroscopic complex was donated at Aretaeio Hospital, which is the only short term therapy system operating at a public hospital. On behalf of Aretaeio Hospital, Prof. Moulopoulou (labs department) thanked the company, highlighting that this equipment is already operating, performing radio-diagnostic examinations for internal and external patients.
