Love and giving take center stage this holiday season to make Christmas brighter for thousands of children. The Wishing Ornaments, OPAP's CSR initiative which has turned the act of giving into a tradition over the past 11 years, support the children of the "The Smile of the Child" organization and the "Together for Children " non-profit organization this year and offer all of us the opportunity to contribute to fulfilling their Christmas wishes.
The children have captured their wishes in colorful drawings, which we can find at the Christmas exhibitions hosted in the shopping malls The Mall Athens and Golden Hall in Athens, as well as at Mediterranean Cosmos in Thessaloniki.
The Wishing Ornaments reach all corners of Greece via the internet. By visiting the www.opapcsr.gr website or the "OPAP Contribution Squad " app, we can find children's drawings with wishes that we can fulfill online.
The process for bringing a child’s wish to life is simple, following these steps:
- We select the child’s drawing-wish we want to fulfill
- We purchase the gift that corresponds to the child's wish
- We send our own wish to the child who will receive the gift
The online fulfillment of wishes is made through the e-shop of the collaborating Moustakas stores, where we can find gift suggestions.
Moreover, if we desire, we can receive the original drawing from the child as a memento of the wish we fulfilled.
Eleven years of OPAP’s Wishing Ornaments filled with giving and hope
The Wishing Ornaments initiative, which started in 2014, has fulfilled to date 61,951 wishes of children who are hosted or supported by organizations across Greece. At the same time, it has carried out 50 infrastructure and support projects in the organizations that participated in the program in previous years.
As part of this year's action, OPAP will upgrade the "Kids Only" educational space in Agia Paraskevi, providing support in practice to "The Smile of the Child" organization with yet another initiative. Additionally, it will upgrade the digital center of the "MERIMNA" organization for the "Together for Children" NPO aiming to bring smiles to the children and long-term solutions that will support their development.
